Youth in Survival Rockport will experience an unforgettable adventure in a peaceful, scenic forest—no screens, no buildings, just nature. Each week, the campers step into a new survival story, building a shared village and learning real wilderness skills like firecraft, shelter building, navigation and tracking. Each day campers decide what else they need to learn to do to "survive", whether that's to purify water, find wild foods, study the ways of turtles, catch and study frogs, photograph wild weasels, learn to walk silently, make up communication codes, or find a way over some cliffs. The adventure continues with beach trips to play, explore, and unwind by the water. This is a very child-centered camp, with lots of time for community building and exploration!

Kestrel's Woodland Seekers is a 100% outdoor camp for children (age 7-12) who love animals and plants and want to spend time learning more about them. Each day, we venture into the woods for hikes during which we learn to spot and discover wildlife, from the obvious to the hidden. We build nature observation blinds in the forest and have an outdoor home base where we can play nature games, catch insects, read, and relax. The young naturalists will explore woodlands, fields, and ponds, and they'll practice skills like tracking and sneaking, sketching, and gently catching small critters to observe up close. Our instructors are responsive, experienced, adult professional naturalists and educators who listen to children and understand that they learn best through opportunities to challenge themselves and use all their senses. Friendships are forged naturally in our supportive community where we have a daily practice of valuing, hearing, and appreciating everyone for their individual contributions.
